Beginning freshmen year, start a list of all of your child's school activities and community involvements (service, clubs, academic, sport, extracurricular etc).

Note specific dates, how many hours they spent with each, and any leadership or special positions they held. Also, keep a running list of any awards and honors they earn. This information will be irreplaceable when they apply to colleges and for scholarships. The applications will be so much easier to complete if you have all the information you need ready. It is amazing how much you forget over four years.
